Law Enforcement Seek Observations on Dangerous Traffic Offense Incident
On Sunday evening, December 29th, at 8 PM, an unexpected incident occurred on the railway tracks in Flingerbroich. A freight train conductor was forced to perform an emergency brake due to an e-scooter on the tracks, causing significant disruptions in freight train traffic.
The e-scooter's placement resulted in a collision, leading to damage to the locomotive. The damaged locomotive was subsequently towed to Düsseldorf-Rath by a recovery vehicle.
The Federal Police in Düsseldorf is investigating the case, with a focus on dangerous interference with rail traffic and property damage. A criminal complaint has been filed against the still unknown perpetrator, and the e-scooter parts found at the scene were secured as evidence.
