Colorado has taken a significant step forward in its pursuit of electric vehicle (EV) adoption, with the completion of six fast charging corridors across the state. This initiative, a collaboration between ChargePoint (NYSE: CHPT) and the Colorado Energy Office, has added 33 DC fast charging sites with over 80 ports.

The new charging stations are located along major highways such as I-70, Highway 40, and Highway 50, ensuring that nearly 80% of Colorado's highway corridors are now within 30 miles of a fast charger. Drivers can locate these new charging sites via the ChargePoint app or website.

The Colorado EV fast charging corridors were supported by $10 million in state funding and over $2 million in private and local contributions. This partnership also includes ChargePoint's Omni Port technology, supporting both CCS and NACS connectors without adapters, and many locations will feature ChargePoint's Express Plus platform, offering speeds up to 500kW.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis has developed an innovative cooling technology for ultra-fast EV charging. The company's Pulsating Heat Pipe (PHP) technology enhances thermal management in EV batteries during ultra-fast charging, potentially reducing charging times. PHPs are designed from aluminum alloy and refrigerant, and placed between battery cells to prevent overheating and maintain stability.

In a separate development, Hyundai Mobis optimized this technology by embedding PHPs into battery modules to quickly dissipate heat to external cooling blocks. This advanced cooling technology is expected to improve the efficiency and speed of EV charging.

Elsewhere, Hyundai Mobis and ChargePoint have partnered to install hundreds of ultra-fast EV charging ports across the U.S. by the end of 2025. This partnership is part of a broader trend towards increasing EV infrastructure and adoption in the United States.

However, not all news in the EV sector is positive. Canoo Inc. (Nasdaq: GOEV) is currently facing significant operational challenges. The company has furloughed employees and idled factories, and its stock price is very low, trading around $0.37 as of August 2025. Despite the financial difficulties, Canoo remains publicly traded under the symbol GOEV but with diminished market stature.

In summary, Colorado's EV fast charging corridors represent a significant step forward in the state's pursuit of EV adoption. Meanwhile, the partnership between Hyundai Mobis and ChargePoint promises to improve the efficiency and speed of EV charging across the U.S. However, the challenges facing Canoo Inc. serve as a reminder that the EV sector, like any other, is not immune to operational and financial difficulties.

  1. The manufacturing industry in Colorado has received a boost, as the completion of six fast charging corridors for electric vehicles (EVs) has encouraged more business in the sector.
  2. The success of the Colorado EV fast charging corridors project is partially due to the collaboration between finance entities, with $10 million in state funding and over $2 million in private and local contributions.
  3. As technology continues to advance in the EV industry, electric cars and electric-vehicles are becoming a significant part of modern lifestyle, with innovative coolings systems, such as Hyundai Mobis' Pulsating Heat Pipe (PHP) technology, reducing charging times and improving battery management.
  4. Another example of the integration of technology and finance in the EV sector is the partnership between Hyundai Mobis and ChargePoint, aiming to install hundreds of ultra-fast EV charging ports across the U.S., contributing to the overall growth and adoption of electric vehicles in the business world.
