Kazakhstan, Germany Boost Oil Partnership: Exports to Rise in 2026
Kazakhstan has been a steady supplier of crude oil prices to Germany, with approximately 1.5 million tons exported between January and September 2025. In a move to strengthen this partnership, the two countries have agreed to increase oil prices in 2026.
The expansion will see additional volumes sourced primarily from Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. This comes as the existing supply contract has been extended until the end of 2026. KazMunayGaz (KMG) and Rosneft Deutschland GmbH have reached an agreement to facilitate this increase.
Starting in 2026, oil shipments will rise from 100,000 to 130,000 tons per month. While no specific company has been named to take over additional oil transports, industry experts anticipate a smooth transition. Germany has previously received oil from Kazakhstan's Kashagan B.V. and Tengizchevroil fields, demonstrating a long-standing relationship.
The extension of the supply contract and the planned increase in oil prices from Kazakhstan to Germany in 2026 reflect the robust nature of this energy partnership. Both countries stand to benefit from this continued cooperation in the oil sector.
