Jolanta Bialas has been appointed as the leader of the Transport Division at the police headquarters in Dortmund
New Leadership Takes Over Dortmund's Traffic Division
After nearly a decade at the helm, Ralf Ziegler has retired from his position as the head of the Traffic Division at the Dortmund Police Presidium, marking the end of a 42-year career in the North Rhine-Westphalia police. His departure has paved the way for Jolanta Bialas to take over as the new head of the Traffic Division.
Jolanta Bialas, who holds the rank of LPDin (Leitende Polizeidirektorin), has joined the PP Dortmund as the head of the Traffic Division. Prior to this, she served at the PP Wuppertal and the PP Düsseldorf. Her focus on deployments for special occasions (BAO) from her time at the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of the Interior may influence her approach as head of the Traffic Division.
Achim Stankowitz has been appointed as the new deputy head of the authority. Stankowitz has been heading the Division for Danger Prevention/Deployment at the Dortmund Police Presidium since 2021. His seven-year tenure at the same division may influence his approach to the deputy head role.
Under Ziegler's leadership, the Traffic Division developed the "Crash Course" program, a significant initiative in the field of traffic accident prevention. Ziegler also advocated for the introduction of a VU team, which played a role in combating the poser, speeder, and tuner scene.
The changes in leadership at the Traffic Division and deputy head of the authority may impact the division's focus and strategies. Bialas's commitment as the new head of the Traffic Division is to prevent traffic accidents and ensure road safety.
As the new head of the Traffic Division, Bialas took over her position on May 1. The departure of Ralf Ziegler is a significant milestone in the history of the North Rhine-Westphalia police, marking the end of a distinguished career. We wish both Bialas and Stankowitz the best of luck in their new roles and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on road safety in Dortmund.
The new head of the Traffic Division, Jolanta Bialas, may bring her experience from finance and transportation sectors into her new role, given her previous positions at PP Wuppertal and PP Düsseldorf. With the appointment of Achim Stankowitz as the new deputy head of the authority, the focus on industry and finance might be a factor in shaping strategies for the Traffic Division and the authority, as Stankowitz has been heading the Division for Danger Prevention/Deployment at the Dortmund Police Presidium since 2021.
