ISACA Enhances CMMI with Three New Domains for Boosted Performance
ISACA has expanded its Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) with three new domains, enhancing its ability to help organisations improve performance, quality, and efficiency. The update includes Data Management, People Management, and Virtual Work domains.
CMMI, developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, has been supporting enterprises for over three decades. It systematically addresses organisational needs, reducing inefficiencies and enhancing quality.
The new domains join existing ones such as Development, Services, Supplier Management, Security, and Safety. The Data Management domain helps organisations use data effectively for decision-making and communication. The People Management domain aligns an organisation's workforce with its business objectives, empowering individuals and teams. The Virtual Work domain addresses virtual, remote, and hybrid work needs, constraints, and solutions systematically.
Ron Lear, ISACA vice president, emphasises CMMI's focus on outcome-based performance and addressing current organisational challenges. With an 81.3% success rate for targeted objectives, up to 77% productivity improvement, and up to 80% quality improvement, CMMI's latest update promises to further strengthen its global impact.
