Innovations yield billion-dollar impact for oil industry workers

Rewritten Article:

Embracing cutting-edge solutions has been a game-changer for the East-Siberian Oil and Gas Company (VSNC), part of Rosneft, in 2024, garnering an economic benefit of over 1 billion rubles.

Located in the heart of Russia's Kransoyarsk Krai, VSNC is working on the development of the Yurubcheno-Tohkom oil and gas deposit. Throughout the year, the company implemented 26 trailblazing projects on its premises.

One of the high-impact projects focuses on optimizing resources during the exploration phase.

Typically, before the development of custom drilling sites, specialists carry out exploratory drilling to assess the subterranean resources. Analyzing vast amounts of data on oil deposits, VSNC team members developed a project encompassing a partial replacement of exploratory drilling with operational drilling. Satisfactory results from well cores and oil samples enable immediate production from an already drilled exploratory well, saving time and additional equipment. This alone has yielded an economic benefit of over 600 million rubles.

Another technological endeavor involves using formation water to maintain the stability of the rock during the drilling process.

This water is a byproduct of oil extraction and possesses the necessary minerals, density, and fire-resistance. As a result, the implementation of this project generated an additional 280 million rubles.

A billion in savings - just for 2024. Over five years, the benefit from implementing solutions to optimize business processes, reduce production costs, and energy savings amounted to 3.9 billion rubles. Boosting production efficiency is a key component of Rosneft's 2030 strategy.
