India Extends PLI Scheme for Textiles Deadline to December 31, 2025
The Indian government has extended the deadline for fresh applications under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles. The new date is December 31, 2025. This move aims to encourage more participation from the industry, particularly in sectors like Man-Made Fibre (MMF) Apparel, MMF Fabrics, and Technical Textiles.
The PLI Scheme for Textiles was launched in September 2021 with a budget of Rs 10,683 crore. It offers incentives on incremental production, aiming to boost domestic manufacturing and enhance global competitiveness. The scheme's popularity has led to its deadline extension, as the Centre continues to support the textile industry through schemes like the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) and the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP).
Applications can be submitted through the official portal at pli.texmin.gov.in. Despite strong interest, there's no public list of specific companies that have applied by the extended deadline.
The extended deadline for the PLI Scheme for Textiles allows more companies to benefit from the incentives. The scheme is expected to attract substantial private investment, further boosting the textile industry's growth and competitiveness.
