Increased rivalry amongst businesses in the Philippines becomes more pronounced

In the fast-paced digital age, where social media is a competitive battleground, veteran broadcast journalist Cathy Yang is making a comeback to business journalism. After her stint with PLDT Incorporated, where she hosted Thought Leaders with Cathy Yang, Yang is set to launch her new show, Money Talks with Cathy Yang, next week on One News, a channel owned by Manny Pangilinan.

Yang emphasizes the importance of getting facts right quickly in this digital era. As the launch of her new show approaches, it is worth noting that it comes close to the start of the campaign period for national elective posts in the Philippines' 2025 midterm elections.

Money Talks with Cathy Yang will air from 9:30 am, Mondays to Fridays, on Cignal TV Channel 250 (HD) and Channel 8 (SD), and will also be available on Cignal Play. The show aims to start the day profitable, suggesting a focus on financial success.

The world of Philippine business has become more competitive, with shrinking advertising budgets for free and cable television. In this competitive landscape, Money Talks with Cathy Yang will face key competitors in the Philippine business news segment.

One such competitor is Business Outlook on ANC, co-hosted by Salve Duplito and Ron Cruz, which airs twice a day and also has a cable and online presence. On the ABS-CBN News Channel (One News), Money Talks with Cathy Yang will compete with other business programs such as Morning Matters and News & Views, as well as Trade Talks and Business Brief on the Bilyonaryo News Channel.

Cathy Yang, the head of programs for Cignal TV, the Philippines' leading direct-to-home satellite provider, was a mentor to Michelle Ong, who now hosts ANC's Market Edge. The revamped lineup of ANC saw Market Edge moving to 3 pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Profit in 2025 could significantly impact traditional media, including shows, as companies shift advertising budgets to digital media and social media influencers. However, with her extensive experience and focus on financial success, Cathy Yang's new show promises to make a mark in the competitive Philippine business news landscape.

The new show, Money Talks with Cathy Yang, is set to air in the realm of Philippine finance, aiming to start the day profitably and navigating the competitive business landscape. As Cathy Yang prepares to launch her program, she will face key competitors such as Business Outlook on ANC and other business shows on One News and the Bilyonaryo News Channel, all vying for advertising budgets in the shrinking world of traditional media.
