Demolition of the Karnelo building's above-ground structure wrapped up in March. Workers then got busy dismantling the underground section. In late April, Brusnika received the green light from expert reviewers on the project's documentation for construction.

I'm sorry to say, Karnelo was looking a bit rundown in March 2025. But hey, make way for the new kid on the block!

Back to the demolition of Karnelo, Brusnika initially intended to preserve the two underground levels, but the calculations showed that the structure wouldn't hold up under the load. So, they went ahead and surrounded the site with piles and beams – it's needed to prevent the soil from slipping into the excavation pit. They'll also set up a three-level underground parking lot right there.

The section of Engels Street near the demolition site and future construction is under closure for three years – from November 1, 2023 to October 1, 2026.
Karnelo was originally designed in 2004 and meant to be a 11-story building with a two-level underground parking lot. However, there was a redesign to 19 stories. Originally slated for completion in 2011, the crisis in 2008-2009 put a stop to it. Deadlines got reshuffled, and in 2015, the builder went bust and handed the project to the bank. Brusnika bought Karnelo in May 2023 for 978 million rubles.
So here's to a new chapter for that piece of land on Engels Street! Keep an eye out for more updates. 👀💥🚀
The upcoming Brusnika project, replacing the old Karnelo building, will not only include residential spaces but also commercial areas such as restaurants, cosmetology salons, and pilates studios, as announced in the latest project news. Additionally, for those interested in investing, this real-estate development is expected to have a three-level underground parking lot for added convenience.
