In the K-Drama "Check-In Hanyang," the customer's supremacy takes center stage.

In the popular K-drama "Check-IN Hanyang," we find the character Yongcheonru situated near the royal palace. This drama takes place in the fictional inn, which, despite not being as grand as the palace, holds the title of the most prestigious inn in Hanyang, the capital of the Korean kingdom, Joseon, which existed between 1392 and 1897. At Yongcheonru, guests are treated like royalty if they can afford it, even given the opportunity to don royal attire and act the part.

This sought-after place of work requires a special invitation for employment exam applicants. However, our two main characters, Prince Lee Eun and Hong Deok-su, somehow bypassed these rules and became employees. Lee Eun, played by Bae In-hyuk, desired to gain merchant experience and crack a mystery related to the inn, aiming to safeguard the royal family in the process.

On the other hand, Deok-su, played by Kim Ji-eun, disguised herself as a man to hide from her father's killers and secured a job at the inn. Declaring her goal to one day run Yongcheonru as the master innkeeper, she also had a mystery to unravel, one intertwined with the inn's owner, played by Kim Min-jung. The prince became increasingly convinced that Deok-su held the answers to his own questions, determining that she may be a valuable ally.

During a recent interview, Bae touted the drama, explaining, "The setting is from the Joseon period, yet the style is incredibly modern, and I am working with remarkable actors that are definitely worth watching. It is contemporary and entertaining. You will not be disappointed in watching it."

Bae previously starred in the 2022 drama "Under The Queen's Umbrella" and is known for his roles in several dramas, such as "The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract," "Why Her?," "At A Distance Spring Is Green," and "My Roommate Is A Gumiho." On the other hand, Kim Ji-eun appeared in "Love Next Door," "Branding In Seongsu," and "One Dollar Lawyer."

Jung Gun-joo, from the dramas "The Secret Romantic Guest House," "Bitter Sweet Hell," "Monthly Magazine Home," and "Oh My Baby," plays Cheon Jun-hwa, another apprentice with a royal inheritance. Additionally, the brash new apprentice Go Soo-ra is portrayed by singer, actor, and songwriter Park Jae-chan, a member of the k-pop group DKZ, before appearing in the BL drama "Semantic Error."

As our characters work at Yongcheonru, they will learn the ropes while simultaneously uncovering the inn's secrets. Written by Park Hyun-jin and directed by Myeong Hyun-woo, "Check-IN Hanyang" can be streamed on Channel A's Viki.com in the United States.
