In a recent development, the judge has rejected the registration of Barcelona's star players, potentially allowing them to depart without any transfer fees being charged.

A jurist has denied the enlistment of FC Barcelona's Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, according to reports from SPORT and Mundo Deportivo. Consequently, at least in Olmo's scenario, he has the opportunity to depart gratis during the January transfer window.

The latter source clarified that Judge Ignacio Fernandez de Senespleda, head of Barcelona's Commercial Court 10, made the decision.

The magistrate declined to grant a provisional measure to enlist Olmo and Pau Victor, implying that Barca must submit a new lawsuit against La Liga on December 30, 2024.

This lawsuit will be filed at what is known as "a Court of First Instance" in order for the club to attempt securing another provisional measure favorable to Olmo and Pau Victor, enabling them to participate in the remainder of the 2024/2025 season.

December 31 serves as the final deadline for Barca to enlist Olmo and Pau Victor, and the club will advocate that the registration guidelines are invalid, as they are "governed by a body such as the La Liga Delegate Commission," a group Barca deems "unqualified."

Pau Victor and Olmo were Barcelona's sole two summer acquisitions for the first team, acquiring them for approximately $2.6 million (€2.5 million) from Girona and $62.5 million (€60 million) from RB Leipzig.

The two attacking players could only be enlisted after a unique loophole emerged as a result of extended injuries to center backs Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo, enabling the Catalans to exploit the situation briefly.

This was merely a temporary solution, however, extending the problem until December 31.

Pau Victor and Olmo must be enlisted again to play the remainder of the 2024/2025 season under head coach Hansi Flick.

Despite its members recent authorization of a lucrative new sponsorship agreement with Nike, Barcelona has yet to resolve its Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues and secure either player's eligibility thus far.

As previously mentioned, Olmo bears the option to depart his former boyhood club for free in the January transfer window if the issue - leaving him without approval to participate in a typical midfield trio alongside Marc Casado and Pedri - isn't addressed.

The decision to deny the enlistment of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor was made by Judge Ignacio Fernandez de Senespleda, who is in charge of Barcelona's Commercial Court 1. Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo's extended injuries led to a unique situation that allowed Barcelona to temporarily enlist Olmo and Pau Victor. Despite the recent authorization of a new sponsorship deal with Nike, Barcelona is still struggling with its Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues and hasn't secured the eligibility of either player yet.
