Humanetics & Mcity Team Up for Advanced AV Safety Testing; ASML Invests in Mistral AI

Humanetics and Mcity are teaming up to enhance active safety testing for automated vehicles. Humanetics will provide robotic test platforms and software, becoming an affiliate member of Mcity. Meanwhile, Audi's Q6 e-tron introduces innovative digital OLED rear lights for improved road safety.

Humanetics' robots will mimic various road users and be integrated into Mcity's Safety Assessment Program. The collaboration will also explore infrastructure safety applications for future cities. Mcity aims to fully integrate Humanetics' dynamic test system, simplifying test setup and supporting faster, complex tests.

In other news, the Dutch semiconductor company ASML has invested around 1.3 billion euros in the French AI startup Mistral AI. This Series C funding round, totalling approximately 2 billion dollars, aims to strengthen European technological sovereignty in AI by 2030. Similarly, Mercedes-Benz is investing over €2 billion in the qualification of its global workforce by 2030, focusing on digitalization and AI through the Turn2Learn initiative. Over 600 employees are currently undergoing qualification to become data and AI specialists in pilot programs like D.SHIFT and Data Worker.

These collaborations and investments reflect a growing focus on innovation and safety in the automotive and tech industries. Humanetics and Mcity's partnership will advance active safety testing, while ASML's investment in Mistral AI and Mercedes-Benz's focus on AI and digitalization demonstrate a commitment to driving progress in AI and autonomous technologies.
