Revamped Road Update: Troubles on the Tyukhtet-Chindat Road in Krasnoyarsk
Things have gotten tricky on the Tyukhtet-Chindat road in Krasnoyarsk Krai. After winter's thaw, the route has vanished, leaving behind a thick, muddy mess that's no match for any vehicle. Everyone's got big trucks to blame - the locals have been firing off complaints to the Road Administration for the past two days.
What kicked off this mess was melted permafrost and movement of heavy machinery on the poor gravel surface, according to KrURoad.
"On April 14, due to thaw-related potholes on the 104th km stretch, traffic was halted. However, by the following day, the issue was resolved, and traffic resumed," they explained.
The trickiest segment of the road lies between kilometers 38 and 42. As of now, the contractor is transporting inert materials to a pit at the 21st kilometer marker. Soon, road services will get to work on excavating clay and restoring the driving surface.
Considering the situation, local residents are kindly asked to limit their travel.
Moreover, the agency added that within the scope of the national project this year, repairs will commence on a 4-kilometer stretch from the 72nd to the 76th kilometer, located near the bridge over the Kandat River. The work is set to wrap up next year.
Previously, extensive work has already been carried out on this route. In 2020-2021, sections from kilometer 76 to kilometer 80 and from kilometer 94 to kilometer 98 were repaired, and the stretch from kilometer 84 to kilometer 94 is set for renovation in 2023-2024.
