Günzburg Authorities Probe Roofing Company Over Wage Theft, Embezzlement
Authorities in Günzburg have launched a major investigation into a local roofing company. Three suspects are under scrutiny, with the Staatsanwaltschaftsamt Memmingen leading the probe. The case involves allegations of wage withholding, embezzlement, and illegal residence.
Customs officers, assisted by local police, raided the company. They seized €9,000 in cash and a sports car to secure potential damages. During the search, seven individuals, believed to be Kosovar or Serbian nationals, were found without valid residence permits. Investigation proceedings for illegal residence have been initiated against them. The responsible foreign authority has ordered them to leave voluntarily and imposed a two or three-year ban on entry to the European Union.
The Main Customs Office Augsburg, which conducted the search, is investigating suspected wage withholding and embezzlement. They are working closely with the prosecuting authority to gather evidence against the three suspects.
The investigation into the roofing company is ongoing. Meanwhile, the Main Customs Office Augsburg invites interested individuals to a Career Information Day on July 19, 2025, to learn more about the profession of customs officer.
