Guide for Purchasing Petros
In the heart of South America, Venezuela has taken a significant step in the world of digital currency with the creation of Petro, the first Latin American cryptocurrency. Launched at the end of 2017 by President Nicolás Maduro, Petro is a centralized cryptocurrency with a unique backing – oil, gold, gas, and diamond reserves.
To get started with Petro, local exchanges function as virtual platforms, requiring account creation, user data verification, and the KYC (Know Your Customer) process. Among the approved exchanges to trade Petro are CryptoEx, Cryptia, Bancar, Vbit, AirTM, Cryptosito, Bitlem, Bitink, and Atom Exchange.
Once users have made a deposit and accepted the terms, they can exchange Bolivars for Petro on the Monedero Patria, an exchange platform created by the Venezuelan government. This platform allows users to buy Petro with Bolivars and vice versa. The PetroApp, another complementary platform, serves as a wallet for Petro, allowing transfers to other wallets through QR code or email address.
The PetroApp application also enables users to buy Petro with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dash. To fund the account, users can send these cryptocurrencies to the wallet address generated in the RECEIVE section.
Venezuelans can even receive part of their monthly salary in Petros, which are deposited in the PetroApp or the Patria platform. In Venezuela, Petro can be used as a payment method for state services and affiliated businesses, encouraging its use alongside the national currency, the Bolívar, over other currencies like Gmail or Outlook email.
The PetroApp and Monedero Patria platforms work hand-in-hand, allowing free transfers of funds between them. After email verification, users can access all the platform's functions. Registration on the PetroApp website is straightforward, requiring only an email address, alphanumeric password, and acceptance of the SUNACRIP terms and conditions.
To buy Petro, users can go to the CONVERT YOUR CRIPTOMONEDAS INTO PTR section, select a cryptocurrency, and enter the amount to exchange. With these simple steps, users can join the growing number of individuals embracing the digital future of Venezuela's economy.
