Global Law Firm XYZ Announces 2022 Partner and Director Promotions

In a move to strengthen its global presence, law firm XYZ has announced the promotion of 54 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2022. The promotions cover 11 practice areas, with a diverse range of talent joining the firm's leadership.

Promotions Across the Globe

The promotions span across various locations worldwide, including New York, London, Toronto, Houston, Sydney, Munich, Vancouver, Perth, Hamburg, Ottawa, Calgary, Montreal, Washington D.C., and Quebéc.

Fiona Henderson, Alex Zekkos, and Rebecca Winthrop were promoted to banking and finance in New York, London, and Los Angeles respectively. In Toronto, Matthew Choi and Russell Dufault were promoted to the same practice area.

Helen Fairhead was promoted to antitrust and competition in London, while Geraldine Young and Jenna Anne de Jong were promoted to litigation and disputes in Houston and Ottawa respectively.

Brian Chau was promoted to intellectual property in Toronto, and Darren Smith was promoted to the same practice area in Houston. Eric Green was promoted to intellectual property in Austin, and Nikita Stepin was promoted to the same practice area in Montreal.

In the corporate, M&A and securities practice area, Rachel Chan was promoted in Hong Kong, Blake Redwine in Dallas, Robin Acworth and Jennifer McPherson in Calgary, and Alberta Yan and Jared Kaplan in New York.

Rebecca Abou-Chedid was promoted to projects in Washington D.C., and Rebecca Winthrop was promoted to bankruptcy, financial restructuring and insolvency in Los Angeles.

Diverse Promotions in Other Practice Areas

The firm also made significant strides in other practice areas. Kimberly Cheeseman was promoted to employment and labor in Houston, while Caroline Jodoin was promoted to the same practice area in Montreal.

Brian Milne was promoted to tax in Calgary, and Justin Coddington was promoted to the same practice area in Houston. Joshua Sprague was promoted to real estate in Ottawa, and Louisa Roe was promoted to the same practice area in London.

Anna Rudawski was promoted to information governance, privacy and cybersecurity in New York, and Nikita Stepin was promoted to intellectual property in Montreal.

Gender Diversity in Promotions

Twenty-three of the 54 promoted lawyers are women, representing 43% of the total. This includes Fiona Henderson, Helen Fairhead, Geraldine Young, Jenna Anne de Jong, Alison FitzGerald, Annabelle Wheeler, Zayba Drabu, Laura Kiwelu, Victoria Corder, Harriet Oldmeadow, and Caroline Jodoin.
