Germany's A3 Motorway Bust: Tax Evasion, Illegal Animal Products Seized
Authorities in Germany recently conducted a joint operation on international tourist buses on the A3 motorway near Limburg. The operation, led by the Autobahnpolizei and local emergency services, uncovered a range of violations, including tax evasion, illegal import of animal products, and serious safety defects.
Three buses from Moldova, Serbia, and Kosovo were inspected during the operation on September 12, 2025. Police discovered driving time violations and technical defects, leading to the prohibition of further journeys and the securing of deposits. The veterinary office played a significant role, removing 520 kg of animal products and imposing warning fines. Samples were taken for testing of animal disease agents.
Customs, however, found the most serious offences. They initiated criminal proceedings for tax evasion and seized undeclared goods worth approximately 1,000 EUR.
