German Authorities Bust Asian Restaurant for Illegal Employment
In a series of inspections at an Asian restaurant in Erding, German authorities uncovered illegal employment of Asian nationals and took enforcement action in August 2023.
In April 2023, the Main Customs Office Landshut discovered two Asian nationals working illegally at the restaurant, despite having residence permits that only allowed stays of up to 90 days.
A follow-up inspection in June revealed three more Asian nationals working illegally without the necessary residence permits.
Following an enforcement order in August, authorities arrested an illegally staying man and fined the restaurant owner 12,000 euros for aiding and abetting illegal residence.
The restaurant, which has not been named, faces penalties for its role in the illegal employment of foreign nationals. The arrested man's identity and whereabouts remain unknown, as no public information is available about his arrest.
