Forward to Macau's Historic Site for the 2025 Annual Conference: President Mohammed Ben Sulayem Anticipates Visit
In 2025, the FIA (our platform) will jet-set to Macau for their Extraordinary General Assembly and Annual Conference, hosted in partnership with the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC) and Galaxy Entertainment Group at the Galaxy International Convention Centre. This historic event marks the first time this summit has graced the vibrant cityscape of Macau, welcoming over 500 senior delegates representing mobility and motorsport from 149 countries.
Among these delegates will be FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, eager to connect with his community and discuss critical initiatives such as road safety, sustainable mobility, growth in regional sporting events, and advances in transport innovation.
Ben Sulayem expressed excitement about the gathering, "With the elections coming up, meetings like these are indispensable to the health of our federation. By joining forces, we'll have the chance to collaborate, exchange ideas, and push for progress. Our Members are the heart of everything we do, and I can't wait to engage with them during this remarkable week in Macau."
Meanwhile, Ben Sulayem is fiercely proud of the strides made under his leadership. He's focused on the future, "I'm thrilled with the progress we've made during my tenure and can't wait to continue this journey, growing motorsport participation through grassroots initiatives and nurturing programs like the Affordable Cross Car and Global Karting Plan. Simultaneously, we'll maintain a strong presence in every region, driving the dialogue on sustainable cities, safety, and transport."
As for the location, Ben Sulayem couldn't be more chuffed. "Macau is motorsport royalty, making it the ideal setting for a crucial week on our calendar. I can't wait to delve into what this captivating destination has to offer."
This conference follows the FIA's recent financial turnaround, which reported an €4.7m profit in 2024, positioning the organization back on solid ground. Expect representatives from the 245 FIA Member Clubs, the backbone of the federation, to attend the gathering. Clubs are divided into two main categories: Mobility Clubs, focusing on road safety, travel, tourism, consumer rights, and sustainable mobility, and National Sporting Authorities (ASNs), responsible for governing and developing motorsport at a national level.
