The Ford F-150 Lobo package leaves me wanting more. I was thrilled about the potential of this truck, owing to the impressive performance and agility of the Maverick Lobo. That model rocks an impressive body kit, lowered suspension, and a clever rear differential, transforming it into a nimble autocross beast. However, the F-150 Lobo feels like little more than an appeal package, lacking the obvious street truck vibe expected from its wheel gap.

Fortunately, it sports a V8 engine.

It's essential to note that the F-150 Lobo isn't a distinct trim but an add-on for the STX trim. The package does include a lowered suspension, but only in the rear, with a two-inch drop eliminating the vehicle's rake. This adjustment reduces the maximum payload to 1,450 pounds and tow capacity to 7,900 pounds, a significant drop from the most capable 4x4 F-150 with a 5.0-liter engine, which can tow 12,900 pounds.

Under the hood, the Ford's Coyote engine delivers the same power as in other F-150s: 400 horses and 410 lb-ft of torque. Want more power? The aftermarket has you covered; I can see Lobo owners installing Roush superchargers, for instance. Every Lobo comes standard with a dual exhaust, a 3.73 rear axle with an electronic locking diff, and an upgraded two-speed automatic 4WD system.

Aesthetically, the F-150 Lobo features a cowl hood, a wide-mouth lower grille, and a unique upper grille design, along with LED signature and taillights. Ford's press release refers to the truck's "ground appearance package" and 22-inch wheels, although in the photos, these details seem hidden. I'm eager to see the Lobo in other color options: Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Tuners like Roush have already produced street trucks on the current-gen F-150 platform, and Ford dealers have too. Therefore, I struggled to see the Lobo in the same league, especially when considering that some enthusiasts might push for 700+ horsepower. lucky for us, the Lobo package adds $4,695 to the F-150 STX, with a final price tag of $59,995 after destination and delivery charges. Look for the Lobo this fall!

The new Ford F-150 Lobo package, although an add-on for the STX trim, comes with a V8 engine, delivering the same power as other F-150s: 400 horses and 410 lb-ft of torque. The industry has already seen aftermarket modifications, such as Roush superchargers, to boost power, indicating a potential for further finance investments in the automotive sector for Lobo owners seeking more power.
