Following the snub, Kyrie Irving is selected for the NBA All-Star Game.
After being left out of the initial NBA All-Star Game lineup, Kyrie Irving now has a chance to shine. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver tapped the West Orange, N.J. native as a replacement for his injured teammate, Anthony Davis. Trae Young, another player often considered a snub, was previously chosen to fill in for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Many considered Irving and Young among the top snubs when the All-Star rosters were announced at the end of last month. Young, disheartened by his omission, even made a lighthearted post on social media, pledging that his fans would see a change someday.
Irving, with an impressive nine NBA All-Star selections under his belt, is averaging 24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game this season. He has consistently kept up a high field goal percentage of 47.5% and a three-point percentage of 40.7%. Despite missing out on an initial spot, his exceptional performances this season earned him a seat at the table.
Anthony Davis, the 10-time NBA All-Star, will be unable to participate due to a left adductor strain. He was selected to join Team Shaq, whose general manager is TNT analyst Shaquille O'Neal.

Trae Young, who leads the NBA in assists this season, has earned himself his fourth NBA All-Star selection. He will be joining Team Chuck, led by TNT analyst Charles Barkley, as an injury replacement.
