Firefly Aerospace Acquires SciTec for $855M to Boost Space & Defense Tech

Firefly Aerospace, a leading space and defense technology company, has agreed to acquire SciTec, Inc., a national security technology company, for approximately $855 million. The acquisition, expected to close by the end of 2025, will see SciTec operate as a Firefly subsidiary under its current business model, led by Jim Lisowski, the current CEO of SciTec.

The deal, valued at $855 million, consists of $300 million in cash and $555 million in Firefly shares issued to SciTec owners at a price of $50 per share. Firefly will hold a conference call on October 5 at 4:00 p.m. CT / 5:00 p.m. ET to discuss the transaction.

SciTec, which recently generated revenues of approximately $164 million for the twelve-month period ending June 30, 2025, was awarded a $259 million contract earlier this year by the U.S. Space Force to enhance the Future Operational Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) framework.

Upon closing, the acquisition will strengthen Firefly's position in the space and defense technology sector. It will also provide SciTec with access to Firefly's resources and expertise, potentially enhancing its growth and competitiveness in the space industry.
