Financial organization to team up Koleaseco with Hyway Trucking for a strategic partnership

In the transportation industry, OneCompass Holdings, a long-term-focused investment firm, has announced its acquisition of Koleaseco Inc., an asset-based transportation provider with over 30 years of experience. This strategic move is part of OneCompass's mission to build a nationally competitive transportation platform, rooted in shared values, customer-first service, and operational strength.

Koleaseco, a dryvan and temperature-controlled carrier based in Hudsonville, Michigan, will operate under the Hyway Trucking banner once the deal, scheduled to close on Aug. 22, is finalised. Hyway Transportation, a portfolio company under OneCompass, already boasts 130 power units.

OneCompass Chairman and CEO Matt Hartman expressed his excitement about welcoming Koleaseco's employees and customers to the OneCompass family and the Hyway Transportation platform. He believes that this integration will foster shared success and innovation, as Koleaseco's employees will be integrated into OneCompass's employee ownership model, allowing them to help shape the future and share in the success they contribute to.

The integration of Koleaseco into the Hyway network is expected to speed up OneCompass's shared vision for national growth. By leveraging the synergies between Koleaseco and Hyway Transportation, OneCompass aims to create efficiencies, increase operational flexibility, and accelerate national growth.

JP Koop, owner of Koleaseco, expressed confidence about the transition, stating it will create meaningful opportunities for their team and carry forward the legacy of service and integrity that has defined Koleaseco for more than 30 years.

Koleaseco is listed with 128 power units and 148 drivers, according to the FMCSA's database. Once the deal closes, Koleaseco will no longer be an independent carrier, but will instead be part of a larger, more competitive transportation network.

This acquisition is a significant step towards OneCompass's goal of building a nationally competitive transportation platform. By combining Koleaseco's full-service brokerage offering for shippers in the U.S. and Canada with Hyway Transportation's asset-based carrier specialising in dryvan and temperature-controlled freight, both fleets will be better equipped to compete on a national scale.

In summary, OneCompass's acquisition of Koleaseco is a strategic move to strengthen its transportation platform and realise synergies from overlapping customers and asset operations. The integration of Koleaseco into the Hyway network is expected to create efficiencies, increase operational flexibility, and accelerate national growth, all while fostering shared success and innovation among the integrated teams.
