Final stages of completion for major maritime passage bridge construction.

HUE CITY - It's a wrap! The central city just finished the concrete pour on the final piece of the Thuận An sea-crossing bridge, marking three years of construction and celebrating the country's Reunification Day.

Get ready to coast! Officially, the 2.36 km bridge, along with its accompanying traffic infrastructure, will debut on the roads on September 2, National Day. Once open, this bad boy will offer smooth sailing between major economic zones, beefing up the national coastal transport network and connecting with neighboring regions.

This sleek, 20-meter-wide, four-lane bridge cost a pretty penny – VNĐ2.4 trillion (US$96 million) in the first phase, to be exact. And, why you ask? Well, it's about connectivity, baby! The bridge serves as a crucial piece of the ring-road system connecting Quảng Trị and Đà Nẵng provinces and the East-West Economic Corridor, a four-nation (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos) trade route.

On top of that, it lays the groundwork for a nearly 1,500-hectare beach urban zone, pumping up investment in the area and bringing the spotlight to tourism, the seaport, and industrial parks in the Chân Mây-Lăng Cô Economic Zone.

But, it's not all about business. This coastal marvel also aids in disaster resilience, improving search and rescue efforts during natural calamities like storms and floods.

Hue has been working hard to draw strategic investors and eco-friendly projects into the Chân Mây-Lăng Cô Economic Zone. Set about 6km from National Highway No 1 and the North-South railway, this zone is the place to be. So, get ready to ride the wave of development – it's just getting started!
