Extensive shutdown of Bavarian railway network anticipated, causing service disruptions on multiple tracks for several weeks.

Beginning June, commuters and travelers in the Nuremberg area, Bavaria, face disruptions on an important railway line due to construction work. The German Railway (Deutsche Bahn) will close a significant route between Nuremberg and Würzburg/Markt Erlbach from June 2 to June 15.

During this period, the Nuremberg Central Station to Neustadt an der Aisch Station route will be off-limits. As a result, several lines, including the S6, RB12, and RE10, will experience cancellations and replacement traffic.

DB has planned replacement bus services to cater to commuters during the construction phase. Travelers can expect longer travel times and are advised to view the updated timetables and changes online at bahn.de or in the DB Navigator.

Meanwhile, additional railway lines in Bavaria are also scheduled for closure. In the Nuremberg area, another line will be shut down from late May to early June. Moreover, an important route in the Upper Palatinate will remain inactive from June to August.

In this period, the disruptions in transportation may affect not only the closing of the railway line between Nuremberg and Würzburg/Markt Erlbach, but also the finance industry as commuters might lose income due to delays. Moreover, the construction work might impact the surrounding industries, such as the finance sector in Nuremberg, since businesses may experience reduced productivity.
