Expansion Strategy Announced by AssetMark for Entry into Private Investment Realm

AssetMark, a leading provider of comprehensive wealth management solutions, is set to make a significant move into private markets with new offerings in private credit, private real estate, and private equity funds, launching in Q4 2025.

The focus of this expansion is on outcomes, aiming to help advisors lead with confidence as market and client base evolves. The platform being built by AssetMark is designed to help advisors serve clients today, while also simplifying the process of accessing private markets, making it less complex for advisors.

Lou Maiuri, Group CEO and Chairman of AssetMark, emphasizes the commitment to helping advisors access private market opportunities in an intuitive and scalable way. "We are excited to bring private market capabilities to our advisors and clients," Maiuri said. "This expansion will allow us to offer diversified, professionally managed private assets alongside public market securities within a single custody account."

David McNatt, Executive Vice President and Chief Wealth Solutions and Strategy Officer at AssetMark, added, "Our goal is to make private market access easy, accessible, and actionable through integrated managed models, rebalancing tools, and digital client-ready communications."

A portion of AssetMark's discretionary strategies will allocate to private markets to provide strategic core diversification. Private funds will be offered as semi-liquid investments accessible through the Adhesion Wealth platform and UMA technology, streamlining advisor workflows and client management.

The expansion is intended to meet the evolving expectations of younger clients seeking personalized, holistic planning. AssetMark's technology platform and educational resources will support these portfolios, ensuring advisors have the tools they need to create more resilient and personalized portfolios.

Private markets are now considered essential for building modern, diversified portfolios. By offering access to private credit, private real estate, and private equity funds, AssetMark is helping advisors build more resilient, personalized portfolios that enhance long-term client outcomes by including alternative asset classes traditionally limited to ultra-wealthy clients or institutions.

For advisors, this means easier access to alternative investments that can help diversify portfolios beyond traditional equities and fixed income, while maintaining simplified operational processes. For clients, the result is potentially improved portfolio diversification and return profiles due to exposure to previously less accessible private market opportunities.
