The State Domain Hochburg in Emmendingen is undergoing a significant transformation, with External: Assets and Construction Freiburg spearheading the project. The renovation includes the creation of a new dairy and young livestock stall, a new solid manure slab, and slurry storage, marking the second part of the first construction phase.

A key feature of the project is the installation of a photovoltaic system. Covering the roof areas of the stall building, the system consists of 902 modules spread over a total area of 1,802 square meters. With a capacity of 405 kilowatt-peak (kWp), this system is designed for renewable energy production.

The new stall building will be an open-air structure, offering optimal ventilation and lighting. The roof will be open upwards between the three building parts to ensure air circulation and natural light.

The animals in the stall and on the pastures will have access to drinking water from a state-owned spring on the domain's property. This ensures a sustainable water source for the livestock.

The company overseeing the redesign of the State Manor Hochburg is K9 Architekten. The total investment for this project is approximately 8.8 million euros, demonstrating the state's commitment to modernising and improving the facilities at State Domain Hochburg.
