Ex-Waste Director Fined €8,560 for €3,000 Fraud in Unemployment Benefits
The District Court of Erding has sentenced the former managing director of a waste disposal company to a total fine of €8,560 for fraud. The man had been underreporting his income while receiving unemployment benefits, leading to an approximate €3,000 in undue social security benefits over two years.
The fraud was uncovered during an inspection by the Main Customs Office Landshut. The man, who was the managing director at the time, had reported self-employment to the job center but failed to declare his actual income. He had been receiving aid payments for his waste disposal company between 2023 and 2025.
The man's supplier, also receiving unemployment benefits, made scrap deliveries worth €40,000 without declaring the actual income. This discrepancy led to the discovery of the fraud, with the court finding him guilty of misappropriating funds intended for those in genuine need.
The former managing director's actions have resulted in a significant fine. His actions not only defrauded the system but also potentially denied genuine claimants the support they needed. The court's decision sends a clear message that such fraudulent activities will not be tolerated.
