Events involving transportation adjustments scheduled for the Triathlon competition occurring in Nuremberg on Sunday
On August 10, 2025, the Triathlon in Nuremberg will cause changes to bus and tram services. Passengers are advised to check official sources for up-to-date information.
During the event, certain tram and bus lines will be temporarily rerouted or suspended along the race course. Alternative services or shuttle buses may be provided to maintain public transport access.
For precise and current details, consult the VAG Nürnberg (the Nuremberg public transport operator) and the City of Nuremberg's event or traffic management websites. These resources typically publish detailed maps of affected lines, times of detours, and alternative routes for passengers.
Passengers with destinations in the city center can switch to U1 as an alternative to bus line 36 during the triathlon. Bus line 36 (Plärrer - Doku-Zentrum) will take a detour via Frauentorgraben, Bahnhofsplatz, and Bahnhofstraße. Unfortunately, during the event, line 36 will not be able to serve stops in the city center.
Replacement buses for line 8 will end at Rathenauplatz coming from Erlenstegen. U-Bahn line U2 can be used between Rathenauplatz and the main station.
Due to track maintenance, U-Bahn line U2 will run every 12 minutes during the event. S-Bahn line S2 is recommended between the main station and Mögeldorf for passengers using replacement buses for line 11.
Due to a detour, these buses will take a detour between Dürrenhof and Business-Tower. Replacement buses with the route numbers E5 and E11 will run between the main station and Tiergarten.
Tram lines 5, 8, and 11 will be diverted or interrupted. The same app registration is required for voi eScooters as for VAG_Rad rentals, which are available for those who prefer to be active. Germanyticket holders and other subscribers get 600 free minutes per month for VAG_Rad rentals, with only a 10 cent start fee per rental.
voi eScooters offer 15 free minutes per month for Abo customers, with a 49 cent start fee. Passengers are encouraged to check the official sources close to the event date for real-time updates and detailed maps of affected lines and alternative routes.
The industry of public transportation will experience alterations within Nuremberg during the Triathlon, specifically affecting trams, buses, and possibly U-Bahn lines.
