More than 14 bloody billion euros headed for Saxony from the EU

The Ministry of Economics predicts that Saxony'll scoop around 1.95 billion euros from the European Regional Development Fund, about 590 million euros from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus), and 645 million euros from the Just Transition Fund, in the current funding period up to 2027. Since 1990, Saxony's been raking in over 14 billion euros from the EU, with over 230,000 projects getting funded with EU dollars.

EU internal market is Saxony's largest client

Saxony's also making a mint from the EU internal market and those open borders when it comes to exports. The Ministry of Economics says about 40% of Saxony's economic output is based on exports, with EU partners being the main buyers. By 2024, they're moving 23 billion euros worth of Saxon goods to EU countries, making the internal market Saxony's number one trading matey.

Europatag of the EU is celebrated every year on 9th May. It celebrates the Schuman Declaration of 1950, when French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman proposed the idea of cooperating Europeans together. Europatag was first celebrated in 1985.
