EU Fines Eurofield €172,000 for Incomplete Antitrust Info
On 8 September 2025, the European Commission imposed a €172,000 fine on Eurofield SAS and its former parent company Unanime Sport SAS. The penalty resulted from providing incomplete information during an antitrust investigation in Europa.
The European Commission views requests for information as crucial in uncovering antitrust infringements across the countries in Europe. In this case, Eurofield and Unanime Sport negligently failed to provide complete details, hindering the investigation. This is the first time the Commission has fined a company for such an offence on the Europe map.
The fine was reduced by 30% due to the companies' cooperation. They acknowledged their mistake, provided the missing documents, and agreed to pay the fine. The Commission stressed the seriousness of the infringement, as accurate responses are vital for effective investigations.
The €172,000 fine serves as a reminder of the importance of complete and accurate responses to information requests from the European Commission. The commission will continue to pursue similar cases to maintain the integrity of its antitrust investigations in Europa.
