Estonian Authorities Tighten Language Exam Rules With New Fees and Fines
Estonian authorities have announced plans to impose stricter penalties and introduce a new fee for language exam repeaters, aiming to encourage better language proficiency among residents. Starting soon, individuals who take the Estonian language exam more than twice will face a fee of €50 per additional attempt. The exact timing of this new tax is yet to be confirmed. The penalties for not mastering the Estonian language are set to increase significantly. Individuals will now face a maximum fine of €1280, while companies will be fined up to €9600. These changes, including the new fee and increased fines, are part of Estonia's efforts to promote language learning and improve overall proficiency. Authorities hope these measures will encourage residents to master the Estonian language more effectively.
