Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently paid a visit to Bengaluru, where he handed over an allotment letter for a whopping 148 acres of land to BEML. The lucky location? Umaria village, Goharganj tehsil, Raisen district.
The Madhya Pradesh state cabinet has given its seal of approval for this venture, aiming to bolster the production of rolling stock, rail, and metro coaches in the region. The decision was officially confirmed during a function in Bengaluru on Wednesday when the land allotment documents were handed over to BEML by CM Yadav himself.
Excited about the prospects, CM Yadav shared, "They will make even Vande Bharat coaches in Madhya Pradesh now as they make them in Bengaluru with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore." The new facility will be a game-changer, producing high-speed rail and metro coaches for national infrastructure projects, including advanced models like the Vande Bharat coaches.
Expanding its manufacturing footprint, BEML- a Bengaluru-based industry that manufactures a variety of heavy equipment, including earthmoving, transport, Railway and mining equipment- has shown a strong commitment to domestic production capabilities. In fact, it's Asia’s second-largest manufacturer of earth moving equipment, and this new venture is sure to be a significant milestone in its journey.
As part of this exciting new expansion, BEML has promised to set up a factory in Goharganj, Raisen district, for the production of metro coaches.
