Established in 2005 by Allan Jones and Matthew Yorke Smith, Coffee Planet started as a humble specialty coffee company with a single coffee machine in a gas station, serving 30 cups a day. Over the years, it has grown into a respected specialty roaster, sourcing beans from over 23 countries.
Allan Jones, Chairman of Coffee Planet, reflects on the company's growth, stating, "We are incredibly proud of how Coffee Planet has evolved from its early days to becoming a global name in specialty coffee."
This transformation is particularly evident in Coffee Planet's partnership with Emirates Airlines, which began eight years ago. The partnership ensures that travellers enjoy exceptional brews in every Emirates lounge at Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Emirates continues to expand its global network and enhances its premium lounge experiences with Coffee Planet as a trusted partner. The Concourse B First Class Lounge at DXB, for instance, features a dedicated coffee counter offering rotating single-origin coffees, prepared by Coffee Planet-trained baristas.
Each cup of coffee offers passengers a journey through distinct flavor profiles from various countries like Colombia, Burundi, and Brazil. Coffee Planet provides training to Emirates lounge baristas and servers on coffee origins, brewing techniques, and service etiquette.
