Electric substation of "ROSSENTETI" in Tomsk named after energy front-line worker
Title: Tomsk Honorally Names Power Substation After Veteran Energy Pioneer Alexander Rybin
Laid-back talk: Yo, peeps! Guess what? One of the largest power substations in Tomsk, "GPP-220," has been named after a legend in the energy field, Alexander Rybin! This badass move was made right before the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Here's the lowdown on what went down!
Alexander Rybin, a 17-year-old volunteer front-liner, fought on the Kalinin, Central, 2nd Baltic fronts during World War II. Dude received the Order of the Red Star, three "For Courage" medals, and a bunch of other awards. After his soldier days, he worked his way up from a master to the deputy head of RUE "Tomskenergo."
The press service of the MES Siberia branch of Russitie (Rosseti) stated, "Amid the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 220 kV GPP substation in Tomsk received the honorary name of Alexander Rybin, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and a highly respected figure in the Post-Soviet energy sector, who dedicated his entire life to serving the electrical networks of this region."
Tomsk region governor, Vladimir Mazur, regional manager of the MES Siberia branch of PAO "Rosseti," Alexander Terskov, members of Rybin's family, and veterans attended the event, honoring the memory of this incredible hero, war veteran, energy pro, and fantastic human being.
Mazur said, "Tomorrow, we will honor the memory of the great hero, war veteran, energy pro, and an exceptional person, Alexander Rybin, by giving this substation his noble name. In the years of war, and in the post-war era, energy facilities like this one had an important mission: to supply electrical power to front-line objectives, factories, and production facilities in the rear lines, and to restore the power supply of cities devastated by war."
It's worth noting that GPP-220 was built in 1980, with Rybin's direct involvement. It provides electricity to Tomsk TEC-3 and ensures the reliable power supply of key Tomsk industrial facilities, including one of the country's largest polymer producers, Tomskneftekhim. The power station can generate 250 megawatt-amps.
Terskov said, "Alexander Rybin is an authentic Tomsk energy legend... This memorial plaque that we are installing today on the GPP-220 substation will remind us again and again about this remarkable person, a highly respected energy expert, a true patriot, a fearless warrior who fought for our right to live peacefully."
