Efficient transportation reorganization in EFFEREN announced

In the heart of the Efferen district, the city of Hürth, in collaboration with Straßen.NRW, has successfully implemented a new traffic management system at the intersection of Luxemburger Straße and Kaulardstraße.

The traffic measure, aimed at improving traffic safety and reducing tailbacks before the railway crossing, was carried out on July 14, 2025. The key component of this measure was the creation of a separate right-turn lane on Kaulardstraße.

The marking work for this traffic management took place over the weekend of July 12-13, 2025, with minimal disruption to traffic. This separate right-turn lane allows vehicles to flow better, even when the railway crossings are closed.

The responsibility for planning and executing these traffic measures lies with the local municipal traffic engineering department. The purpose of the traffic management was to ensure a smoother and safer flow of traffic at the intersection, thereby improving overall traffic safety in the area.

Mayor Dirk Breuer has expressed satisfaction with the results of the traffic management. He stated that the new system has resulted in a significant improvement for all road users. This sentiment was echoed by the city officials, who are optimistic about the positive impact this measure will have on the daily commute of the district's residents.

The city of Hürth and Straßen.NRW are committed to continuously improving the city's infrastructure, and this traffic management system at the intersection of Luxemburger Straße and Kaulardstraße is a testament to their dedication. With these measures in place, the city is one step closer to providing a safer and more efficient transportation network for its citizens.
