Economic assessment of Neuss's business location: Breuer gives Neuss a score of 2.56, hailing it as "extraordinary progress!"

Economic analysis of IHK locations: Neuss earns a 2.56 Breuer rating for its economic location, sparking excitement with the exclamation, "Sensational development!"

Neuss, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, continues to impress with its strong economic performance, according to the IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein. The city is the most tax-strong in the district, with a forecasted trade tax revenue of 250 million euros this year, 80 million euros more than expected.

Employment in Neuss is growing at a high level above the average, with around 82,000 socially insured employees working in the city, making it the city with the most employees post-war, according to Rolf Retzlaff. The city performs well in many important economic indicators, such as tax revenue per capita, compared to other municipalities.

The surveyed companies are particularly pleased with the excellent transport infrastructure in the city. However, some companies have criticized issues such as bureaucratic response time, administrative accessibility, the level of public fees, and the duration of planning and approval procedures. The specific issues with municipal services in Neuss, as criticized by these companies, are not publicly accessible or captured in the current data.

Jürgen Steinmetz, the CEO of IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein, finds the overall verdict satisfactory, while Breuer, who often praises the IHK analysis, finds the IHK's assessment unconvincing. Breuer states that Neuss is well-diversified and finds any hint on where they can improve to be valuable.

Despite the criticisms, Neuss has improved its position compared to the previous analysis four years ago, climbing to be one of the 40 most tax-strong cities and communities in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2022. The score of 2.56 in the survey is slightly better than the average of cities examined over the past four years.

Despite the challenges, Neuss remains a city to watch in the economic landscape of Germany. The city's leadership is encouraged to address the concerns raised by the companies to maintain and further improve the city's economic standing.

  1. The city's strong economic performance, as evidenced by its tax revenue, has attracted various businesses to Neuss, contributing to its reputation as a city with a high number of employees.
  2. To maintain and improve Neuss's economic standing, addressing the concerns raised by companies regarding bureaucratic processes and public fees in the finance sector could be essential for fostering better business transport infrastructure.
