Dubai Launches Employee-to-Entrepreneur Program to Foster Innovation
Dubai has launched the Employee-to-Entrepreneur Program, aiming to unlock hidden entrepreneurial talent within existing organizations and foster innovation. The initiative, led by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), seeks to strengthen Dubai's reputation as a global innovation hub and build a diversified, knowledge-driven economy.
The program, structured in three phases – idea development, business planning, and launch – empowers employees to transform their ideas into viable businesses. Participants gain access to DIEZ's infrastructure, licensing support, incubators, and accelerator platforms like SANDBOX and Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (Dtec). Oraseya Capital, DIEZ's investment arm, offers funding and advisory services to help ventures scale.
Early proposals span various sectors, including technology, healthcare, design, and mobility. Applications are evaluated based on scalability, economic potential, and wider social and economic impact. The program complements the UAE's national campaign to position the country as the 'Startup Capital of the World' and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
By launching the Employee-to-Entrepreneur Program, Dubai aims to harness the untapped entrepreneurial potential within its organizations, driving innovation and economic diversification. The initiative, led by DIEZ and supported by Oraseya Capital, offers a comprehensive ecosystem to nurture and scale startups, further cementing Dubai's status as a global hub for innovation.
