Dresden Bridge Expansion: B43 Traffic Restrictions Extended to 2025
The ongoing bridge expansion project in Dresden has led to traffic restrictions on the B 43. The work, which is expected to continue until 2025, is currently focused on Grabenstraße and will later move to Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße. The total cost of the project is around €795,000, with the federal government covering the expenses.
The project's extension until 2025 is due to the increased effort required for installing and removing transition structures. Currently, work is underway on Grabenstraße with a full closure, expected to continue until the new year. After this, work will shift to Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße, also with a full closure.
Below the bridge, work is in progress on the rugby ring, with the right lane closed in both directions. The bridge work is expected to be completed before Christmas. The Regierungspräsidium has provisionally granted financial aid of 96 million euros, covering 90% of the eligible costs. Signposted detours are in place via the existing road network during the work on Grabenstraße. Pedestrian and cycling traffic will be maintained during the work on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße.
The traffic restriction on B 43 will remain in place until the work below the bridge is completed. The project's total cost is around €795,000, with the federal government funding it. The extension of the project until 2025 is due to the increased effort required for transition structures. Motorists are advised to follow the signposted detours and plan their journeys accordingly.
