Dragonfly Energy Wins $300K Grant to Boost Nevada's Battery Manufacturing
Nevada Tech Hub has been designated as one of 31 nationwide by the federal government to boost critical tech sectors. Dragonfly Energy, a leading battery manufacturer, has been selected for first-round funding, with plans to expand its skilled workforce and upgrade production lines.
Dragonfly Energy's CEO, Dr. Denis Phares, sees this award as a significant investment in Nevada's future and the company's growth strategy. The funding, approximately $300,000, will be used for modernization, certification, and workforce development initiatives.
Dragonfly Energy plans to upgrade its battery manufacturing lines, work towards ISO 9001 certification, and recruit and upskill production personnel. The company has chosen the Nevada Tech Hub as its partner for these initiatives. Dick Bartholet, the regional innovation officer for Nevada Tech Hub, emphasizes supporting industry leaders like Dragonfly Energy is central to their mission.
Dragonfly Energy was awarded the funding for its contribution to lithium battery manufacturing capacity and workforce development in Nevada. The contract between Dragonfly Energy and Nevada Tech Hub is currently being finalized. This partnership is expected to strengthen both the company and the state's tech industry.
