Disruptions in rail service due to the shutdown of railroad tracks.
Passengers travelling on the Konstanz to Karlsruhe rail route are experiencing further inconvenience due to ongoing closures and disruptions, according to a railway spokesperson.
The closures are primarily due to the construction of a new railway crossing in Villingen and other track maintenance work, which has resulted in the closure of the railway line between Villingen and Donaueschingen since last weekend. This closure is expected to last until mid-October.
The Regional Express train between Stuttgart and Konstanz, as well as the Intercity train from Stuttgart via Singen to Zurich, are also affected by these closures. The Intercity train from Konstanz to Karlsruhe via Singen is particularly affected, with extended journey times now in place.
To accommodate passengers during these disruptions, a bus replacement service has been put in place for the Konstanz to Karlsruhe line. Buses are running as a replacement for the affected trains, including the Intercity train from Konstanz to Karlsruhe via Singen.
The railway line between Konstanz and Karlsruhe is also affected by these ongoing disruptions. The closure of the Villingen-Donaueschingen line and the railway between Oberndorf and Rottweil, effective tonight, is causing additional inconvenience to passengers on the Konstanz to Karlsruhe route.
Deutsche Bahn, the railway company carrying out the expansion of the level crossing in Villingen and the maintenance work on the line between Villingen and Donaueschingen, is responsible for these closures and disruptions. The construction of a new railway crossing in Villingen is part of the reasons for these closures and disruptions on the railway lines.
Journey times for the affected trains are extended, and passengers are advised to check the latest travel information before setting out. The railway company urges passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and to allow extra time for their trips.
These disruptions are causing significant inconvenience to passengers, but the railway company is working diligently to complete the necessary maintenance and construction work as quickly as possible, with the aim of restoring normal service to the Konstanz to Karlsruhe route as soon as possible.
