DHL Freight appoints Voss as its new CEO

In a significant move to drive growth and integration within DHL's road freight business, Markus Voss has been appointed as the new CEO of DHL Freight, effective from September 1, 2025. Uwe Brinks, the previous CEO, is stepping down from the role.

Voss, who currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at DHL Supply Chain, brings over 11 years of experience with the company to his new position. He has held several key roles within DHL Supply Chain and will now be a part of the division's management board, reporting directly to Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.

The DHL Division Global Forwarding Freight, where Voss will now lead, is a logistics company offering transport services by rail, road, air, and sea. The Freight business unit, one of the leading providers of road transport in Europe, is a part of this division.

This leadership change is part of DHL's strategy to standardize and digitalize its road freight business and to better integrate land transport solutions across its divisions. To further enhance cross-divisional collaboration, DHL is establishing a new European Transportation Board. The board will include the CEOs of DHL Global Forwarding Europe, DHL Freight (now Markus Voss), and DHL Supply Chain EMEA.

With this new role, Voss will be responsible for steering the Freight business unit towards new heights, working closely with Scharwath to implement DHL's strategic vision for growth and innovation. The company looks forward to the fresh perspectives and expertise that Voss will bring to his new position.

  1. Markus Voss's extensive career in the automotive and business sectors, along with his experience in the transportation and finance industries, will be instrumental in driving the growth and integration of the Freight division within DHL's overall logistics services.
  2. With the appointment of Markus Voss as the CEO of DHL Freight, the company aims to capitalize on the synergies between divisions, particularly in the areas of road, rail, air, and sea freight, to provide comprehensive and seamless transport solutions to clients.
  3. As the CEO of DHL Freight, Markus Voss will leverage his expertise in the industry to drive the digitalization of DHL's road freight business, aligning it with the company's strategic vision for growth and innovation in the competitive global market.
