In a recent statement, Ole Toft, Royal Danish Ambassador to Ankara, highlighted the potential for Danish and Turkish firms to work together on reconstruction projects in Ukraine and Syria, as well as in the renewable energy sector in Turkey.

The ambassador noted that Danish firms are intrigued by opportunities for collaboration with Turkish companies, particularly in Africa, with a focus on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. He expressed optimism about the possibility of joint ventures in rebuilding Ukraine and Syria once the conflicts subside, as well as in Central Asia, where Turkey has a strong presence.

Toft emphasized Turkey's position as a global construction powerhouse, with some of the largest and most talented construction companies in the world. He added that while Denmark no longer boasts such large companies, it does have significant firms operating in various sectors worldwide, particularly those interested in construction projects in targeted countries.

The ambassador also noted that Turkey's renewable energy sector has captured the interest of Denmark, with major Danish renewable energy firms expressing intentions to invest in Turkey, particularly in offshore wind energy projects.

In terms of transportation and logistics, Danish companies see potential for cooperation with Turkey due to the latter's status as a transportation hub and its role in the Middle Corridor transport route project. Large Danish transport firms such as DSV, Maersk, and DFDS have shown great interest in collaborating with Turkish firms.

The growing partnership between Denmark and Turkey is expected to lead to further opportunities, with the integration of Danish technology and sustainable solutions with Turkish infrastructure capabilities set to be a key focus. Reconstruction projects in Ukraine and Syria are also seen as potential areas for future collaboration.
