Cycling from Dubai to Sharjah now made easier, with RTA introducing a new bus service
New Bus Route E308 Connects Dubai and Sharjah
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced a new bus route, E308, connecting Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. This new service runs daily from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM with a frequency of every 30 minutes, providing a cost-effective and convenient alternative for commuters traveling between the two emirates.
The E308 bus route aims to ease congestion and provide predictable, affordable intercity travel. The service connects Dubai's Stadium Bus Station to Sharjah's Al Jubail Bus Station, with a fare of AED 12 for a one-way trip.
Regarding luggage, regular personal bags are allowed, but large suitcases or oversized items may be restricted, especially during peak hours.
In addition to the E308 route, the RTA has expanded its bus-on-demand service to cover 10 major areas in Dubai, including Oud Metha and Barsha Heights. This service operates with 13-seater buses that follow specific routes within designated zones, and is available in high-demand zones. It's important to note that the bus-on-demand service does not repeat any of the earlier mentioned bus route updates.
The modifications to the bus routes include adjustments to termination points, rerouted paths, and the addition of new bus stops. Earlier this month, on July 14, several bus routes were modified by the RTA to improve coverage in residential and industrial areas, as well as to better serve growing communities.
Drivers can communicate directly with passengers via the app to arrange convenient pick-up points. The bus-on-demand service is priced at Dh5 per trip, offering a flexible and cost-effective option for residents.
The introduction of the E308 route is part of a wider initiative by the RTA to enhance public transportation across Dubai. However, it does not involve any advertisements, nor does it provide details about the AC upgrade for Dubai Metro cabins, the expansion of Burj Khalifa-Dubai Mall Metro Station, the addition of new bus stops, or updates for better connectivity, as these are separate topics.
