Crystal Meth Seized on Train: Customs Warn of Dangers

Customs officers in Selb have seized a significant amount of Meth during a train check, raising concerns about drug smuggling. Head of KEV Selb, Günter Schnabel, has warned about the dangers of Meth consumption following the incident.

The seizure took place on an agilis train travelling between Cheb and Marktredwitz. During the check, officers discovered approximately 6 grams of Meth on a passenger. A medical examination found no additional drugs hidden in her body.

The woman admitted to consuming drugs the day before and was found with a used syringe in her bra. A knotted condom containing about 5.87 grams of the drug was also discovered during a search of her hands. This is similar to a previous incident at the main customs office in Regensburg, where a woman was arrested for smuggling about six grams of Meth hidden in a condom during a train ride from the Czech Republic near Selb.

The seized Meth, estimated to be about 60 consumption units, could have caused significant harm. The woman involved faces prosecution for violating the Narcotics Act and smuggling. Penalties for such offences range from several months to 15 years imprisonment, reflecting the seriousness of the crime.
