In the heart of Düsseldorf, a series of track renovations are causing disruptions and detours on several public transport lines. Here's what you need to know.

Seven train lines and four bus lines are affected by these changes, with some lines being discontinued altogether. Tram Lines U704 and U705, for instance, are temporarily out of service. Passengers can alternatively use lines 706 and 707 for Tram Line 705.

From Gerresheim, trains will run via the U71 line from "Bilk S" to "Hellriegelstraße" between 4 am and 9 pm, then return to Gerresheim. Similarly, from Benrath, trains will run all day via the U73 line from "Südpark" to "Universität Ost/Botanischer Garten", then return to Benrath. Between 9 pm and 4 am, trains will end at "Graf-Adolf-Platz", turn around, and return to Ratingen.

Buses are replacing trains on the closed sections. Between "Südpark" and "Bilk S" (4 am to 9 pm) or "Graf-Adolf-Platz" (9 pm to 4 am), buses will stop at regular train stops or a temporary stop on the right side of the road. Bus lines M3 takes a detour from the station "Moorenstraße".

Bus lines 780, 782, and 785 stop at additional stations between the Uni-Klinik and Berliner Allee to better connect the closed area. In the direction of Heinrich-Heine-Allee, buses stop at "Auf'm Hennekamp", "Färberstraße, Steig 4", "Morsestraße, Steig 8", "Corneliusstraße, Steig 6", and "Luisenstraße, Steig 6". In the direction of Erkrath, Solingen, and Langenfeld, buses stop at "Luisenstraße, Steig 5", "Corneliusstraße, Steig 5", "Morsestraße, Steig 7", "Färberstraße" at a temporary stop on Corneliusstraße at house number 131, and "Auf'm Hennekamp" at a temporary stop on Mecumstraße at house number 33. Buses 780, 782, and 785 additionally stop at the stations "Auf'm Hennekamp", "Färberstraße", "Morsestraße", "Corneliusstraße", and "Luisenstraße" for Tram Line 704.

The "Universität Nord/Christophstraße" stop is suspended in both directions; passengers are advised to use "Südpark" or "Uni-Klinken" instead. The station "Suitbertusstraße" in the direction of Graf-Adolf-Platz between 9 PM and 4 AM is relocated to the station "Karolingerstraße" of bus line 835. The station "Aachener Platz" in both directions between 9 PM and 4 AM is relocated to a temporary stop on Aachener Straße at house number 200.

Please note that due to these changes, there may be waiting times and delays. Drivers are asked to detour around the closed area, with detours signposted. Suitbertus Square and its surrounding intersections (Brunnenstraße, Suitbertusstraße, Himmelgeister Straße, Witzelstraße, Buysstraße) are closed to both trains and cars.

To get the precise track renovation schedule and affected lines by Rheinbahn in Bilk, it is best to consult Rheinbahn’s official website or local transport authority announcements directly, as the current publicly available social media posts do not contain that specific information.

Stay informed and plan your journey accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. Safe travels!
