Construction Approved for Baptist Quarter Development

The municipal council of Beuren has unanimously approved the development plan for the Taufach quarter, a modern, sustainable neighborhood aimed at supporting lifelong living. The deputy mayor, Mathias Biggel, called the project an "enrichment for the town."

Key Points of the Development Plan

Infrastructure Development

The plan focuses on creating pedestrian-friendly pathways, cycling routes, and modernizing public transportation connections to link Taufach with Beuren's town center and surrounding areas. Green spaces such as parks and community gardens are included to enhance residents' quality of life and foster community interaction. Utilities and digital infrastructure will be upgraded to support smart living, including high-speed internet access and energy-efficient systems.

Residential Projects

The quarter will feature a mix of housing types tailored to diverse age groups and household sizes, focusing on accessibility for all life stages. Emphasis is placed on barrier-free design to support elderly residents and people with disabilities. New buildings will incorporate sustainable construction practices, including energy-efficient materials and renewable energy sources like solar panels. The residential areas will be designed to foster a strong neighborhood community with shared spaces such as playgrounds, meeting points, and multi-purpose community centers.

Commercial Projects

Small-scale retail outlets and essential services will be integrated within the quarter to provide convenient access for daily needs. Spaces for local businesses and startups are being planned to encourage economic activity and job opportunities within the neighborhood. The commercial development aims to complement residential life without overwhelming it, maintaining a balance between living and working environments.

Future Model for Lifelong Living

The Taufach quarter is envisioned as a prototype for “lifelong living,” where people can live, work, and socialize within the same community throughout different stages of life. This includes senior-friendly amenities, services for families with children, and spaces encouraging social integration among all generations. The model incorporates adaptability in housing and community services to address changing needs over time, promoting independence and well-being. Integration of health and care services within or near the quarter is planned to support aging in place.

Construction Progress

The single-family houses are the last construction phase in the Taufach quarter, serving as sound protection for the earlier construction. Initial discussions are being sought with the adjacent catering business, Landgasthaus zum Kreuz, regarding construction measures. Detailed work on the project is pending, including planning infrastructure works and tendering services. If everything goes according to plan, infrastructure work could start next year.

Partnerships and Appreciation

The project developer, QOSY Local Development Beuren GbR, is involved in the development. Sebastian Igel, representing QOSY, expresses gratitude for the cooperation of the administration, local community, municipal council, and planning offices. The local council has recommended approving the development plan, and the council followed the recommendation, approving the plan unanimously without further discussion.

The Taufach quarter is a heart project for the developer and the community, aiming to create a future model for lifelong living in the countryside in cooperation with the Isny Senior Care Center (AHZ). If the project proceeds as planned, it will contribute to a sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant living environment in Beuren.

  1. Regional finance will be influenced positively by the construction of the Taufach quarter, as the modern, sustainable neighborhood aims to attract investments in real-estate and foster economic activity through local businesses and startups.
  2. The Taufach quarter, a prototype for lifelong living, will not only transform the real-estate landscape of Beuren but also serve as an example for other rural communities seeking sustainable and inclusive development based on the principles of supporting lifelong living.
