Comparing Portugal's Inflation Rate Against the Eurozone

In the world of economics, the daily podcast "Economia dia a dia" continues to be a go-to source for insights and analysis. Despite some misconceptions, Tomás Delfim is not the producer of the podcast, but he has a significant role in the latest episode.

Tomás Delfim, a journalist and sound engineer, graces the podcast as a guest in the new episode. The focus remains on the economic situation in the eurozone and Portugal, with inflation being the main topic.

As of July 2025, inflation in Portugal is rising and currently stands at 2.6%, marking a 7-month high. This is slightly above the eurozone's inflation rate, which was 2.0% in June 2025 according to Eurostat data.

Portugal's annual inflation climbed from 2.4% in June to 2.6% in July, with unprocessed food inflation accelerating to 6.2%. Energy prices, however, slightly fell by 1.1%. The country’s core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) held steady at 2.4%.

On the other hand, the euro area inflation rate was 2.0% in June, up slightly from 1.9% in May, with core inflation at about 2.3%. This is somewhat lower than Portugal's headline inflation for July 2025.

Tomás Delfim's professional background as a sound engineer may contribute to the production quality of the new episode, ensuring a clear and engaging listening experience for the audience.
