News Article: Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Victoris Compared – Pricing and Variants

The automotive market in India is heating up, with two popular SUVs – the Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris – going head-to-head in the premium segment.

The Kia Seltos, with its design flair and slightly more loaded package, might still hold sway over the Victoris for some buyers. However, it's important to note that the Seltos is generally more expensive than the Victoris across all variants.

The base petrol manual variant of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris costs approximately ₹10.49 lakh, while the equivalent base variant of the Kia Seltos (HTE (O) 1.5 petrol MT) costs around ₹11.19 lakh, a difference of nearly ₹70,000.

As we move up the ladder, the prices of the Victoris VXi, ZXi, and their automatic siblings cost between ₹11.79 lakh and ₹17.7 lakh. The Seltos HTK, HTK+, and HTX cost between ₹12.5 lakh and ₹18 lakh, a gap that varies depending on the specific trim.

In mid-range variants, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris offers more EMI breathing space for buyers, usually being cheaper than the Kia Seltos. The automatic variants of the Victoris start at approximately ₹13.35 lakh and top out near ₹17.7 lakh, with the gap between them and the corresponding Creta variants sometimes reaching nearly ₹2 lakh.

At the top end, the Victoris hybrid CVT and high-spec trims cost nearly ₹19.99 lakh, while the Seltos GTX+, Diesel AT, and the X-Line cost over ₹20.5 lakh. The prices of the Hyundai Creta turbo petrol and diesel variants are nearly identical to the Victoris hybrid variants.

The upcoming Kia Seltos 2026 petrol variant is expected to cost between ₹12 - 21 lakhs, with the Seltos EV variant priced at approximately ₹20 lakhs. The Creta EX and S petrol manual trims cost more than ₹12.5 lakh and can reach up to ₹15-16 lakh. The automatic variants of the Hyundai Creta, particularly the SX and SX(O) trims, as well as turbo and diesel options, cost ₹19-20 lakh or more.

It's worth noting that the prices of the top-end Victoris and Seltos variants are nearly identical, with the Seltos slightly more expensive. The upcoming Kia Seltos 2025 model, built by Kia Motors, is expected to launch globally in India in November 2025 and production will continue at Kia's Anantapur plant.

In conclusion, while both the Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris offer compelling options in the premium SUV segment, potential buyers should consider their budget and preferred features before making a decision.
