Companies in the oil and gas sector secure exclusive rights for innovative technologies and designs
In the oil-rich region of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, local companies have been making significant strides in technological innovation. In 2024, these companies submitted a total of 222 patent applications to Rospatent, showcasing their commitment to advancement and efficiency.
Among the most notable inventions is a new method for forming the junction of multilateral wells, patented by 'LUKOIL-Western Siberia'. This innovation, which is not related to the previously reported heavy liquid patent, is expected to increase the efficiency of field development in the construction and capital repair of oil and gas wells.
'Surgutneftegas', another local oil giant, received a patent for a heavy liquid specifically designed for conditions in the Far North and high pressures, used in well killing. This patent, which was not mentioned in the earlier bullet points, is a significant contribution to the industry, facilitating repair work and not harming the near-well zone, making the process safer.
The combustion chamber, patented by an unnamed oil company, is another innovation that reduces harmful emissions and ensures the stability of installations. This useful model, registered as a low-emission combustion chamber for gas turbine engines, also helps to remove impurities and reduce losses of the pure substance.
Gazprom Processing and Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk also joined the innovation race in 2024. Gazprom Processing patented a method for separating and purifying hydrogen, while Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk received a patent for a device for automatic control during gas pipeline repair. This device, which reduces risks for workers and remotely monitors pressure and gas concentration levels, is a testament to the companies' focus on safety and efficiency.
The heavy liquid patent, although not related to drilling, gas pipelines, hydrogen purification, or well repair, is one of the five invention patents received by oil and gas companies in Yamalo-Nenets in 2024. This patent adds to the large number of patent applications submitted by these companies, solidifying their position as leaders in the implementation of inventions.
As previously reported, Yamalo-Nenets oil and gas companies are at the forefront of invention implementation in 2024. With these latest innovations, it is clear that they will continue to drive progress and efficiency in the oil and gas industry.
